Getting Started with the Credit Invoice Generator

Getting Started with the Credit Invoice Generator

Welcome to the Credit Invoice Generator! This guide will help you get installed and create your first professional credit invoice in under a minute.

1. Installation from Zoho Marketplace

  1. Go to the Credit Invoice Generator listing on the Zoho Marketplace.

  2. Click the "Install" button.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to authorize the widget for your Zoho Books organization. You'll need to grant it permission to access credit notes, settings, and documents to function correctly.

  4. Once installed, the widget will be automatically available on your credit note pages.

2. Generating Your First Credit Invoice

The beauty of this widget is its simplicity. It lives right inside Zoho Books, so there's no need to learn a whole new piece of software.

  1. Navigate to a Credit Note: In your Zoho Books account, open any existing credit note or create a new one.

  2. Find the Widget: On the right-hand sidebar of the credit note details page, you'll see the "Credit Invoice Generator" widget. It will automatically start fetching the details of the open credit note.

  3. Select a Template: The widget includes a "Default" template to get you started. Simply leave this selected for your first time.

  4. Click the Button: Click the big "Generate & Attach PDF" button.

  5. That's It! The widget will process the data, and in a few seconds, a professionally formatted credit invoice PDF (with negative values!) will be attached directly to this credit note. You can find it in the "Attachments" section of the credit note page.

You've now successfully created a proper credit invoice without any manual editing! In the next article, we'll cover how to customize the look and feel of these PDFs.
